What is Industrial Biotechnology
Industrial Biotechnology is also known by some other name that is White Biotechnology. Industrial Biotechnology is the study of the use of enzymes and the use of microorganisms is done to make bio-based products in various sectors such as chemicals, food ingredients, paper, textiles, and many other industries. Industrial Biotechnology is one of the most important fields in working for the implications of health and medicine.
The scientists in this field can create new medicines that are required for the treatment of cancer patients, synthetic human growth hormone and synthetic insulin. Eligibility Criteria (UG & PG) of Industrial Biotechnology
Every course has some of the other guidelines out of which one is eligibility criteria for the candidates who wish to take admission to the course.
For Undergraduates:
The eligibility criteria for a bachelor’s degree is clearing their 12th with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks or equivalent.
They also need to clear the required entrance examination. After qualifying the entrance examination, they have to give an interview.
For Postgraduates:
The candidate must have a B.Tech degree with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
They also need to clear the required entrance examination that is conducted by different colleges or universities.

To get into B.Tech Industrial Biotechnology in Anna University, the eligibility criteria is that you should have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as your major subjects in class 12.
B.Tech in Industrial Biotechnology requires a knowledge of mathematical concepts like algebra, calculus, statistics, probability, functions, equations etc. Hence you should have Mathematics as one of your major subject.
If you have Biology as your side subject and Mathematics as your major, then you are eligible for the course. But with only PCB you cannot get into the course. With PCB subjects you can get into BSc. Biotechnology but for B.Tech you need Maths compulsorily.

, Both the streams are equally good and it depends upon your interests and passion what you want to pursue. As far as placement is concerned, Production Engineering is great option in present while Industrial Biotechnology has brighter future.
And if we talk about the courses in GCT college than both are good so take course on the basis of your interest because placement and all are equal in that college.
