It is one of the two main courses that are a reason for IT sector development. Students are provided with the knowledge and skills required to meet the industry's demand both technically and academically.

Candidate must have passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognised state or central board with at least 55% of the marks with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as the major subjects of study.

If applying through the Common Entrance Test (CET) like JEE Main, UPSEE must have the qualifying marks required by the university.
Candidates must apply for the course within the age limit of 20-22 years.
A minimum of 50-60% marks aggregate in the Bachelor's Degree.
Students can get admission on a merit basis, or they can give CET (Common Entrance Test) as mentioned below. Some universities take their test for the admission processes like BITSAT and LPUNEST, whereas there are many other examinations conducted at state levels.
Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main – JEE Main exam is a national level examination conducted in two phases for admission in various engineering courses. Students who qualify the Phase 1, i.e. JEE Main are eligible for phase 2 which is JEE Advanced. The exam is conducted in September.
Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE) – It is a state-level exam for admission in degree level engineering institutes.
Information science has a very wide range of opportunities in multiple IT-related fields. The substantial growth of the IT sector in India has increased the employment rate by multiple folds.
