Many universities/colleges offer undergraduate programs and economics is one among them. Some universities offer Bachelor of Arts (B.A) and some offer Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) depending upon the minimum credits of the programme as required by UGC.

I want to highlight the fact that BA economics provides you the specialisation of graduation in Economics with wide variety of theoretical subjects from MicroEconomics , Macroeconomics, Development and Public Economics . A B.Sc in Economics has more of practical aspects such as Mathematics, Statistics and Econometrics. There is another stream that is B.Sc (http://b.sc/) (Hons) economics which includes additional subjects apart from what is taught in B.Sc (http://b.sc/) Economics. After doing this you may pursue higher studies, you may sit in competitive exams but provided the institute you target is giving you that.
