The officers working from different parts of India are required to work in the premises of the Ministry of Defence and their respective Battalion. On an average, Officers are required to work for 50-55 hours. Also, they are required to work overtime if the work demands.

There will be times when there will be more than one logical conclusion to a single assertion and it might become hard to choose the more appropriate. Hence, one must possess strong judgement skills to excel and succeed in their respective cases.
Analytical skills: While being trained by the National Defence Academy, an Army trainee must be able to absorb large quantities of information, then filter it into something meaningful, manageable, and logical. At times, there will be more than one method or precedent applicable to resolve a situation. Therefore, as an Army Officer, one must possess strong evaluative skills in order to choose which is most applicable/suitable.
Research skills: Army Officers are required to perform extensive research work into relevant facts. As an Army Officer, being able to research quickly and effectively is essential to understand the state’s situation, their needs, and to prepare defence strategies. Preparing official schemes requires an Army Officer to absorb and comprehend large amounts of information, then to filter them down into something useful. Good research skills include proper planning, going beyond google’s keywords, and not relying on a single source.
People skills: Working as an Army Officer is not a recapitulating practice. Irrespective of how well one does academically, at the end of the day, he/she has to work with people, on behalf of people, and the decisions that are made affects people’s lives. No internships are required to become an Army Officer. However, the department of Indian Armed Forces offers few internships to the Indian students who want to pursue their career in the defence and government of India. Secondly, candidates can also join NCC in their graduation or school (provided if schools/institutions are affiliated to NCC).
